WE WILL DISCUSS NOW IMPORT AND EXPORT:

EXPORT OF GOODS FROM INDIA : GOOD FROM INDIA CAN BE EXPORTED TO ANY COUNTRY WHICH DOES NOT COME UNDER ANY KIND OF EMBARGO AND EXPORTER HAS ALL EXPORT DOCUMENTS IN PLACE.

WE CAN EVEN DO THE LOGISTICS OF THIRD COUNTRY WHICH MEANS THE GOODS ARE NOT TOUCHING INDIAN TERRITORY.

FOR EXAMPLE FROM CANADA TO WEST AFRICA OR FROM  COUNTRY "A"TO ANY COUNTRY "B".

As in earlier post we explained logistics is moving products and goods efficiently and carefully, now we will go in details how goods are moved to destination:

Can be moved by road and rail,
Can be moved by sea,
Can be moved by air.

The mode of transportation depends on the cost and urgency of the  shipment. The size, weight and volume of goods evaluated before determine the mode of transportation.

Goods within country can be moved by road, rail and even by air.
But to export or import goods, The mode of transport will be  by sea or air.

Some times for countries with adjoining borders, goods can be transported across international borders by road or rail.

Examples of such movements are:
India-Bangladesh
Iran-CIS Countries
China-CIS Countries
USA-Canada

Supply chain management and logistics are two different terms which are of used interchangeably.

 Logistics is a component of supply chain managements: it focuses mainly             on moving products or good efficiently and carefully so that it arrives at destination safely and on time.

Main activities involved in logistics are: packing, transportation, distribution warehousing and delivery.

On other hand Supply chain management  is broad range involves activities which are more expensive such as planing, sourcing, control and execute of product flow from acquiring raw material and production through distribution to the final customer.
